Bessa R3a and rokkor 40mm cle conflict?

My Bessa R3a acts a bit wierd in a mode. A local repair shop said that there could be a conflict with the rokkor lens because of the cam. he is not sure. Does any one know? I dont have another lens to test it. I think my lens is the cle version cause the serial number is not on the front plate.

Lens cam will not affect exposure. Set the lens at infinity. Does the camera still act up ?

The CLE version has a straight cam like all CV and most Leica lenses, anyways.

Shutter works fine in manual. its more of a metering problem in A. In A setting,I get 2 sets of number, low shutter numbers on the left and the appropriate numbers on the right. If I press the button all the way down the camera will give me one of the bad shutters on the left ie 1 second or half second. If I half depress button and then fire, I will get a good appropriate shutter speed. It could be a lens conflict couldnt it?

I don't think so: you'll surely find the same without using any lens...

yes at infinity, the camera still acts up. My serial number is on the side of the lens not the front, does that mean I have the CLE version?

So, no matter the aperture you set on lens, each of them defining different correct shutter speeds (one for each aperture), when you fire quickly you get the same slow shutter speed? Or do those slow wrong speeds change too, depending on the aperture you set?

Juan, with no lens shutter gives me 2 sets of numbers as well. For example, now I can choose between 1/30 or 1/250. If I press all the way down. I will get 1/30. If I half press, I will get 1/250

Yes the slow shutter speeds vary according to aperture as well.

Where do 1/30 or 1/250 shutter speeds come from? Did you use any of them on manual before going to A?

I never heard anything like that... Consider sending it to CQ... Maybe an electronic component has always been wrong, as the previous owner says he used it in Manual...

The 1/30 and 1/250 were examples. They vary. In that example the 1/250(number on the right was the correct exposure. Basically the low numbers on the left dont belong.

It looks like the camera is broken, I will get my money back today and possibly buy a new one. Thanks
