I have a lot of time for the GF670. Portable MF, with modern amenities like a meter. Not really any less portable than a 35mm SLR, but 6x7 negatives. The price in the USA I think is a bargain, about a quarter of a Leica MP without lens? Not too shabby.
Fair point, should have worded it differently. Been stuck in all week scanning some of my old black and white negs for a client. Think I'm losing my mind not to mention some serious posture issues.
My favorite right now is my Nikon F6 because I'm on my last roll of Velvia and I'm not sure if I'm buying any more and the Leica MP didn't get to have it.
Desert Island? No electricity? No fair - bias! You're limiting the discussion to all manual cameras, none of which is the "best camera".
Here is the best camera ever. The Yashica Electro GSN (that meters to 1000)
1. High quality images
2. Plentiful
3. Among the highest value propositions of any camera ever made - used/new
4. Quiet
5. Aperture priority mode.

Entry level APS-C Nikon DSLR because it has the wonderful and inexpensive 35 f1.8. Small(ish), great IQ, reasonably priced but it mostly has to do with the excellent affordable prime.
A screw mount Leica. Obviously there is no "best" camera ever, but if I had to pick one, that'd be my choice. I lave many cameras, and I am especially fond of my M2, but every time I pick it up my iiic I am in love. My M2 is near mint, and my iiic is a battered user, but the iiic will always win out in my book.
Agree that there is no 'best' camera.
My favorite throughout the years is an Olympus Pen, the original all manual exposure control, scale focus, viewfinder model. Why? Because it is always with me and I've had one since 1972.
