Best camera ever made and why?

The best camera ever made is the one you are taking pictures with.

Why?

Because a camera that you are taking pictures with is better
than all the other cameras you are not taking pictures with.

Stephen

Dear Stephen,

Not always. Taking pictures with some cameras for magazine reviews can remind you of how much you'd rather be using another camera...

Cheers,

This thread was responsible today for me giving the F5 a turn. I forget sometimes how easy it is to just take pics with this camera. Point and shoot, no messing, let the A/F and matrix do their thing and guarantee perfectly exposed and focused results. Composition and content are the only things one has to consider.
My only wish would be for 35 and 50 auto focus and fully coupled Summicrons and it would definately be the only camera I would use for film.

Those and others are nice cameras. I still have and use my original Fujica ST 901. I had an AX-3, and it was nice, but I just couldn't like it like my 901 so I got rid of it. I always had a belief, justified or not, that the Fujinon M42 lenses were a little better. But the 50mm f/1.6 was nice.

Other cameras that I personally like would be my Super Press 23, VAG 9x12 with RF, my Zeiss Ikon 6x9, and certainly my Contax 167mt with 50mm f/1.4 T*.

Its the 55 1.6 is the reason for me keeping the Fujicas, I think it is probably my favourite 35mm lens except for maybe my Oly 50 1.4. I keep getting tempted by a Fuji m42 camera, I do think they are one of the great unsung camera makers.
