Ive decided to grab an M6 classic when Im ready, Ive seen a few for some prices that are compelling! I dont know where my brain was when I first posted, I never use flash, never have, never will really, the classic M6 looks to be the ideal dream shooter for me, now, haha, black or chrome! Ahh. Hopefully Ill have a little extra leftover to go towards some new glass! I really appreciate the response!

I had an MP and went back to a Classic (two of the latter plus a lens for the proceeds from selling the latter), got a more durable finish, a rewind crank, and a cushier body covering in the bargain. Used gear is always iffy (then again my checked-by-Leica-techs demo MP had to go right back for a shutter repair) but if you get a good one you'll be very pleased with your choice. And if you ever do decide to use flash, the auto flashes don't give up anything to the "TTL" flash on the M6TTL. TTL flash is mostly useful with telephotos and macro (where there's major parallax between the flash meter eye and the lens), or cameras with modern-day capabilities...like sync above 1/50

Too many 50mms
If you like a built-in meter, go for an M6 Classic or TTL. Otherwise, you can get a good CLA'd M3 for about $800-900 or go for an M2.
FWIW, my first Leica M is an M6 Classic which I got for about $1300 back in 2000 or 2001.

I decided to go meterless for my first Leica -- managed to find a nice M3 + 50mm Summicron DR for $1000. Of course, I was so pleased with my frugal approach that I subsequently purchased a 35mm f2.8 Summaron to go with it. Oh well.
Good luck!
