True, I have sever times returned items to KEH that didn't meet my expectations. In general, KEH does tend to underestimate the condition of their merchandise. Sometimes though, a camera with a malfunctioning shutter or RF does get sold.
The few times I dealt with KEH, the items exceeded my expectations. That's just me though.
The only advice I can give you is, the more you are willing to pay, the higher chance you get a better unit. Look out for faulty meters, ask plenty of questions.

I bought my M6 from Dale Photo in Hollywood, FL. Been around forever ask for David Farkas, knowledgeable and trustworthy.
Hi - I suggest not to worry about collectors' pieces... by nature they are rare or unusual for some reason and also would sell for high prices you would not want to pay....I am looking for Leica in full working condition, not a collectors piece - I WILL take it out and shoot pictures with it.

While some of us may have cameras of collector interest, I think it's safe to say all Leica owners on RFF use them regularly to shoot pictures. Don't we? Of course.
