Big C rangefinder on Small C ?

Hi

I'm wondering if IIIC's range finder assembly (incl top cover) can be transplated on IIIc?

Has anyone tried it?

I've never tried it but suspect it won't work because of the difference in size etc of the rangefinder assembly. Mounting points may be different as well as rf coupling..
