I do believe this is a Great Grey Owl. Largest North American owl (by size, not necessarily by weight). Beautiful birds, and usually not too excited to be in the presence of humans, much less a Yakima rack Very cool!!!

I'm sure you are probably correct. No horns should have been a clue for me.
Shot with a 50mm lens, so I was pretty close, though it was through a window. Massive creature, very stately in person..... In the flesh... er....Bird personage when in close proximity to.
