Many thanks David - and my apologies for the belated reply! It's just tough wrapping this head of mine around 15mm as a birding lens....but with beaks like those... Very nice pic and good rapport with your subjects Lynn

Edit: oops I realise I replied years ago to this. My bad.

Hah, no worries Lynn. I have been off the site here for quite a long time. Nice seeing this pic again, there's a lot happening, the foreground, texture and shadow detail draw me in, and then the determination captured in the soft feathered gull adding a cinematic quality.... I'll spare you ranting onward
Cheers,
David
PS not a 15 but 21, a bit longer lens for birding!

This tiny bird was sounding the alarm to all and sundry. The reason being our cat decided to lounge outside in the sun. The miniscule fool (about the size of a toddlers fist) obviously failed to realise our cat is quite elderly and immobile and couldn't catch a cold.

There’s a family of magpies close to our house. Not sure where their nest is, but they’re frequently in our yard. Sometimes I can hand feed them. This is a juvenile who hasn’t got used to me yet, pickintg at grubs in our lawn. I grabbed the 6D and EF70-100 with a 1.4x converter and managed to grab quite a few shots before it flew off.
