It's just tough wrapping this head of mine around 15mm as a birding lens....but with beaks like those... Very nice pic and good rapport with your subjects Lynn :)

Hah, no worries Lynn. I have been off the site here for quite a long time. Nice seeing this pic again, there's a lot happening, the foreground, texture and shadow detail draw me in, and then the determination captured in the soft feathered gull adding a cinematic quality.... I'll spare you ranting onward :)

There’s a family of magpies close to our house. Not sure where their nest is, but they’re frequently in our yard. Sometimes I can hand feed them. This is a juvenile who hasn’t got used to me yet, pickintg at grubs in our lawn. I grabbed the 6D and EF70-100 with a 1.4x converter and managed to grab quite a few shots before it flew off.
