I pick a chrome one...
Is the chrome one priced $3,500 less than the black one? After all, black cameras are much more pristine and professional.

If I win the lottery I'll buy both. I'll keep the black one and donate the chrome one for the next RFF competition!

Very praiseworthy!! If I win the lottery I'd buy both and keep them both. The black one loaded for color, the chrome for B&W.xabi said:If I win the lottery I'll buy both. I'll keep the black one and donate the chrome one for the next RFF competition!

I'll stick with film...because I can't afford the M8. But if ever money was no object, I'll pick chrome!

Just reconfirmed my deposit this afternoon with Tony Rose. Going with chrome on the M8.
My old M4-P was and my current M6 is black. Thought a change would be nice.

Are you sure you don't mean black chrome?

Black chrome for me - when covering the red dot it's easier to match black tape to the black chrome than it is to find silver tape that matches the silver chrome.
If today's silver chrome had more of that iridescent colored sparkle that one sees on an M2 or M3, the choice would be tougher, though.

I was going to go chrome because it wears better when you have a magnisium or aluminum body, i.e. no color contrast........ but now I find out that the M8 will have a solid milled brass bottom and top plate. The black chrome starts to look like a nice option since there is nothing quite as nice as a golden brass patina showing thru a black finish.
Also, I have grown fond of older chrome lenses on my black RD1.
