I hope they do offer the X100S in black - I have a thing against silver cameras, and have for many years. I'm rening a new X100S in May, and would hold out for black if I end up wanting to buy one.

Buy the X100s and cover the top and bottom plates with gaffers tape ala David Hobby... boom, black X100s without the added cost of a "special edition."

Isn't this generally done for practical purposes and not for aesthetic purposes though (since it isn't an elegant solution). Though I guess a few camera fans might do it because their favorite photographer does it. 😱

This is a no brainier, the X100S. Got mine earlier this week and am happy to have upgraded. My X100 was a fantastic camera but like the improvements.

I'm really shocked that they went down the same path as with the x100 - they are really dissing the folks who paid up for black last time and have black lens shades etc !!!
