Blown Away by the Konica Auto S3

I know this thread is old, but a couple people mentioned the expense of the S3. Funny "ebay" story. I was bidding on Konica Auto S3s for a while, and they were always out of reach, or I got outbid. Mine came up on eBay from a camera repair shop. They set a reserve of $90, which was fair, since the camera was CLA'd, new seals, with the required battery adjustment...

I think I was the only bidder (might have been two), and got a serviced Konica Auto S3 for $90 or a little more, plus shipping.

I saw "as is" auctions for Auto S3's - who knows if it works, not film-tested or anything get a slew of bidders because it was a "no reserve" auction and wind up going for way more than what I paid for a serviced camera in perfect operating condition.

eBayers are weird.

NickTrop, I had a similar experience, I bought an S3 that had been well-described b the seller as fully working, etc. for the Buy Now price, which was $65 without shipping. The camera I got seems great, but one thing the seller did not disclose was that the wind lever was not original, and because of that camera could not rewind film back into the cartridge when you're done with the roll. I and my repair guy are still looking for a replacement. (sigh!)
