saving my pennies and hope to buy something this summer...
not sure if i should go with a new/used xe2 body or go whole hog (money wise) and get the fuji 16.
both ideas are tempting...
i am satisfied with my xe1 bodies but something a bit faster might be nice...i have little interest in the xt bodies...and if the xe2 gets a firmware upgrade it should make me happy for quite a bit of future time.
i have the 16-50 xc lens if i really want to go wide but that 16 prime looks so very sweet. and i like the idea of a 3 lens kit...16/23/56...

Hi Joe
I think the answer is both
Recently I've thought of an XE2 or XT1 but an x100T with the TCL is my best bet.
I'm trimming gear and medium I won't be able to use during my next couple years to get there.
Mostly using the XE1 with xf35. The X100T with the TCL is not any bigger and the TCL can be removed to get to a 35mm FOV (equiv).
You see wider than I do so... horses for courses I guess.

Joe,
I vote for the XE-2. Why? The 16-50 is not that much larger than the new 16mm prime.
If DOF isolation at that (16mm) angle-of-view is important, the balance tips towards the prime. Also the 16 prime has the newest AF motor technology. But I have not heard bad reports about the 15-50's AF.

Save the cash, then re-ask the question (to yourself) when you have the money. It'll probably be clearer then.

Xpro2 when it comes out?

But you can call me Steve
How long ago were we lamenting the lack of lens choices from Fuji? Now I can't seem to settle on which of the zooms I want. Oh the agony of it all! Sell the XC and get the XF would be my choice.

Don't be sensitive... you know we've never had issues. Ultimately, you have to decide though and I think it'll be clearer when you have the cash... that is what I meant.

Go the new 16, she looks too sweet to go any way other than that. I was going to recommend looking at the new CV 15 as an alternative but the speed of the Fuji has me questioning that direction.
I'm trying to get over the silliness of not liking in camera correction of distortion. Not sure if Fuji does that or not but that's me. Got way too much baggage in the noggin about trusting computer to make corrections.
Might want to look into the X-M1 with a bright line for the 16mm......

Locally, there is a chrome and a black xe2 for $500cdn each, on kijiji, for several days now.

That sounds like a reasonable price. What do you guys think the reason folks are flipping? Running after the illusive "More Mega Pixels" must be better?

the xe2 is a bit quicker in the af department...and is rumoured to be getting a firmware update in the near future...

Have you already tried out the XE2, being able to experience the improvements over the XE1 for yourself will help with the decision.
Also for the lenses, have you thought about the Fuji 14? It is not the latest/greatest and does not have 1.4 but it is still on heck of a lens and currently going for 60% of the 16 price on the used market.
