Bored....

Table-top photography. Macro. Infrared. Soft focus portraits - how soft can you go and be pleased with the results?

Or, start a religion, plan a coup, plot a murder.

And there is always alcohol.

Best Regards,

Bill Mattocks

Kill your TV set. Shave your head. Get a new tattoo. Take boxing lessons. Take ballroom dancing lessons. Learn to play a musical instrument. Beat up a mime. Shake down tourists for loose change. Yell "Albatross" at random strangers on the street.

I'm never bored. Perhaps because I am so clearly insane.

Best Regards,

Bill Mattocks

I'm with Bertrams suggestion. Bill's is too much work.. learining ball room dancing could take forever.

Show up at the nude photo class with a lomo or a four frame photoblaster. Then just watch out of the corner of your eye as the others check you out as you photograph the models. Maybe even set up a camera to take shots of the attendees/ students.

Dont' ask for a break for popcorn and a soft drink because that will be a give away.

More seriously, just get all your Mongolia images together and do a book of 100 photos. I'll buy the first copy.

DO NOT BUY ANOTHER CAMERA !!! 😉

My advice is do something new, it should be funny and relaxing.
Book a course at the local adult education center, on studio nude photography for example, with professional models tho. That will brighten your dark thoughts up 😀
Not only because of the models but also because of the bunch of horny wannabee-Newtons which you'll meet there. Priceless show !! 😀

You obviously have too much time on your hands and need more children.

Has your wife seen this thread?

We just went through a re-org. They put one person in my "office" (under me). That person quit the same day. WHEW! I though I would have to Manage again...

I'm bored!

.....

I'm definitely getting bored with my photography. It's always the same ol' crap....

What to do? What to do?

I know how you feel. The "blues", the "blahs" the "when is all this going to end motonony".

I spent most of the winter shooting pictures upstate of tumbling down old farm building in B&W. It started to get real "old" doing so - week after week (we do have a lot of tumbling down old farm buildings!).

This weekend I rebelled. I put a roll of Fujichrome in the camera.

And I went out an shot a bunch of tumbling down old farm buildings in color for a change! 😀

Rémy, I do feel like that from time to time... and then, I revisit my old slides. Some make me scream ("What was I thinking!!!" :bang: :bang: 😡 ), but others make me fell really good, boost my self-esteem and send me through the roof in ecstasy.

There's also making cards. And not only that, sending them away... and then get people's e-mails ("I really like the card with the [insert subject here] in it. It's really cool." )

That ought to do it.

Currently, I went through the pics and the cards (boy, am I GOOD 😀 ), and now I'm slowly gearing up to (gasp! 😱 ) developing my own.

I just bought a "film picker" (gotta love that moniker), aka "film retriever."

Besides, this Friday I'll go to Chicago, to photograph, as George (Shutterflower) said, some silly randomness.

If something else comes to my mind, I'll pass it to ya! 🙂

Those things are weird. I just grab the film cannister and peel it like an orange. Then I can reach in and pull the film leader out. Sometimes the hub will no longer turn when I do that, so I tear the end caps off as well.

What are those film pickers for, anyway?

Best Regards,

What a huge difference between page 1 and page 2 of the responces. Page 2 is more like it 🙂

You know, we all take off our masks in page two, nobody's looking so far in the thread anyway...

Plus, once the mime is beaten up, we are now fully free to relax 😉

Along the lines of Shutterflower ...

Pick a bus line that goes to the neighborhood you are least likely to visit normally, take your camera, and walk around for the entire day. Get lost in your own city 🙂

Just don't forget your Kevlar ;-)
Ah.....no I don't think I will drive down to Nickerson Gardens
[ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nickerson_Gardens,_Los_Angeles,_California ] 😱

James Garner's character in help support your local sheriff: looking at a badge with a large 45cal. DENT in it, " why that badge had to have saved that man's life." repsonse from the Mayor "IT sure would have if it hadn't been for all them OTHER bullets!"

kelvar only works if they AIM well, my luck I would take 10-12 to the legs and bleed out 😀

I do plan on taking the train to Union Station, shoot like crazy then jump on the redline to Hollywierd...

So, where was the invite 🙂

You haven't been invited by the left to visit the right?

Ok, so I have to handle both sisters on my own 🙂
