Bored....

where do you live? probably need travel to someplace that offers more opportunities for shots.

Well. Dunno. Amsterdam is pretty photogenic. IMHO.
As irresistible as they are, though, the canals and the cobblestones can become -tsk - routine.
Sometimes I do the seen/scene thing: one view, different cameras.
And sometimes I just decide on a colour or a shape and shoot thematically.
Sometimes: one street, one neighbourhood.
And sometimes I simply block.
But it does pass.
Eventually... 🙂

Rémy,

Are you still bored after reading this far into the thread you started?

I hope not.

If so, you can always enroll in mime college and...

But I won't go into that. 🙂

You haven't been invited by the left to visit the right?

Ok, so I have to handle both sisters on my own 🙂

Volker,

Now you be careful next time your down there in Cuba - ever seen a Papa with a shotgun?

Now, Senor, which of my lovely daughters are you going to marry? 😀

Dang! You guys are nuts! 😛

BTW, I already have a kid and tattoos. No need for more. I'm not gonna shave the head. Did that to the kid some years ago in India. She was not pleased. 😛 It's an Indian thing, ya know.

This morning I cycled to work. That made me feel good. And y-day evening I went squashing with the wife and kid. Gonna squash 3-4 times a week from now on (if I don't collapse of exhaustion). That's gonna give me some ebergy and lose me some weight.

Also, I like the ideas of small books and postcards.

It seems with all those ideas my weekends will be filled already, but I'll try out the bus ride suggestion one of these days. Maybe I'l take an early morning ride to the forest, bring the kid, and shoot some there. Early Spring in the forest should be interesting (unless there's nothing growing yet, except mud).

BTW, that 100 print idea is good too. A bit expensive, though, but I'm gonna do that. One shot a week (like the one's from _my PAWs_). Bundle them in a folder, maybe make a book out of them....

I feel energy and ideas flowing! Gotta write down these things and set myself some goals!

I was hesitant to add one other suggestion.

I know you only shoot digital (RD-1 for RF).

Go out and buy a disposable film P&S and re-discover what it's like to "value" every shot.

Then you can go back to the RD-1 with a different viewpoint!

George, not a bad idea. I'm already doing something like that. I'm shooting 3(!) MF folders right now. One that takes 127 film, one that takes 620 film and one that takes 120 film. Two are in B&W, one in colour. The 620 and 120 are both 6x9 negs. They're big, the film is expensive, and I'm shooting very selectively. I find that it's making me more "judgemental" in my shooting. Not a bad thing.

Photograph these nuts beating up mimes.

Call it photojournalism.

Win an award.

Mimism is a horrible reality in our society today.

These voiceless victims are often abused by vocalists who taunt them with verbal abuse of the most despicable rancor.

Left (and right gloved) to respond with only hand movements and facial expressions, Mimes are often assaulted in the mistaken belief that they have "expressed" obscene gestures and condescening sneers.

It is truly time for a Mime photojournalist to rise to the occassion and give a voice to these speechless victims who elsewise will remain discriminated against and margiinalized. Forced, as the case may be, to continue to frequent undersireable neighborhoods such as museum and tourist venues!

IT'S TIME TO SAVE THE MIMES!!!!
