I’ve got a button rewind M2 and the button doesn’t seem to depress. This is my first time handling one. Is there something I’m missing or have you ever see that before?
I’ll try firing the shutter when I get home.Depress at all or lock down? I think there's a known issue where the catch ceases working and it requires a service (I only have lever-winds so my knowledge is only anecdotal).
It should push in so that you can rewind film - have you tried advancing the wind lever, firing a dry shot, and then pushing the rewind button?

No film in there right now. Are you saying it might be down already and won’t pop up until it’s loaded? On a lever rewind it pops up when you wind on the first time for the new roll. It might be easier with a junk roll in there as you would quickly tell if the wind-on mechanism was disengaged for rewinding.
