I think you would be surprised at how many good watch makers make a "sterile" dial. That is, a dial with no markings other than the hour markers. In fact, many watchmakers charge more for a "sterile" face than the regular, branded dial.
But, it is pretty easy to tell a Rolex from a Casio in any situation.
My favorite watch is a sterile. Drives people nuts, especially the ones that can't stand being driven nuts!

It would seem to make sense, but there's not been a connection for me. When I was with the police I wore a digital 24-hr watch, as noting precise time is important in connection with an incident. Even later in a period of camera acquisition GAS I never felt any draw toward watches or fountain pens. I have not even worn a watch for decades. Perhaps there are others who feel the same...I actually expected a lot more responds in this thread, as I thought cameras and watches have similar attraction, especially mechanical ones. ...

heh heh ^^ Nicely put. When I was with the police I wore a digital Seiko so that my activity log notes had accurate time.

I don't know…..if I leave the house without my wristwatch I feel as if I've left my pants on the back of the chair...

I just made this picture twice. I had one last frame on a roll and made this setup for it. I also took it digitally, because I wanted to see it, as I imagined it and show it to my wife. The film version misses the pen and the black film canister, which, of course, makes total sense, so I added them only for the digital version.
