Camera case repair

Anyone know of a good leather repair outfit/ person/ co. for cases? I left an old Kodak Vollenda case with a local leather handbag guy and got a servicalble strap but was hoping for a little more art to it. Like approximating the old color and or weight. All my vintage cameras have some minor case problems. What do you guys do?

I recently found a 'nice' everready case for my Nikon FM3a while picking through the jumbled mess of cases at B&H sometime back.

After a day or two of use, one of the seams for the base started to come off. Looked sewn, but was glued.

I took it by the nearby shoe repair guy here in Woodside, Queens. Charged me $4 and did an excellent job.

Other than that, there's the overpriced but quality leatherworkers at Modern Leather Goods, 2 West 32nd St Ste 401.

Throw away the cases!

Go to Tandy. Get proper needles & thread. Restitching is a piece of cake, the holes are already there. Use some leather scraps for putting torn cases back together. Nice velvet and felt at the fabric store. Mankind has been using needles and some sort of thread for a long time. You can do it!

I second what Puderse said. Get some needles and thread and do it yourself. It's a snap. The holes are already there, and you just have to lace it up.
