Does anyone here have some suggestions for getting travel insurance for camera equipment?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I have a personal items policy with my homeowners insurance policy. I have no deductible, and they cover price increases if something is not available anymore, i.e. M instead of replacement M9.
The cost is about 5% of the value of all of my listed gear.In production gear is easy to value, but with the rarer items(black M3, etc) I had to get a letter from a Leica dealer stating replacement costs.
Good luck.

I have my equipment covered through my homeowners policy. $250 deductible. $25000 max per occurrence and $5000 max per item (I like to be overinsured, just in case -- and the cost for the increase to max coverage was $30 a year). If something is stolen or whatever, they will replace it.
I have receipts for more or less every item and that is sufficient. Some of the older items, such as my rolleiflex (for which I have no receipt -- found it in an old trunk in the house), we would have to look to various internet and dealer prices to determine the value. Or, I could get it appraised.

If tied to your homeowners insurance, be aware if coverage extends to losses incurred outside the US or not.
I learned this lesson the hard way.

Personal articals policy through State Farm, no deductible. It covers loss, theft, accidents, and everything else besides war and nuclear attacks. It costs me about 1% of my total coverage for a year.
I don't think there are any countries where I'd not be covered. But would need to look more carefully at my policy to be sure.

I had same insurance and coverage for many years, but now I am not anymore with State Farm.

Mine is covered around the world (just checked) - thanks for the heads up.
Apparently allstate does not cover accidents, such as dropping my camera or lens. Neither does Amica.
Anybody know of a company that provides better coverage that would not require me to change my homeowners insurance?

I am really interested in finding out whether a one time travel policy is also possible since the homeowner's insurance covers the camera equipment at home.

Raid: I think that was our carrier who did not cover a loss outside the US.

I have my gear covered on my homeowners insurance - required copying the bill of sale and listing the serial numbers of the cameras. Thus far I have never needed it, so I can't say how willing they are to pay.
