Cameraleather.com experience

It has been more than a week since my last email from Morgan where he told me that he'd send the kits that same day. I'm tempted to email him again, but maybe I should hold out a little longer....

I just received my kits and they're lovely! I'm not sure I like the look of leather on a Bessa, but that's not the leathers fault.

He was really apologetic about sending the leather a week later, but he was kind enough to include some extra leather and a nice note with the package.

Morgan will definitely be getting my service again in the future.

Any more news regardoing Morgan? The site is still part down and I would like to order a Kit for Yashica FX-3 I inherited from my aunt (I remember when we gave it to her for her birthday). Not the best camera ever but in this case, with sentimental value

I have always got the best service from Morgan. Sometimes it takes him few extra days to ship but his leatherette has the best fits of them all. I give him 100% thumbs up

I think he has a "niche" "garage" business, probably part-time. He is very busy and if he realizes he makes a mistake, he bends over backwards to do something "extra". I also think he has been the victim of a lot of "scams" in the past which make him wary in some instances. I have trusted him enough to send expensive unusual cameras to him for recovering and he has come through every time.

If he closed up his micro-business there isn't anybody else out there doing what he is doing. Which would be a great shame.

Even though cameraleather's website is mostly broken, I placed an order on Friday for my Leica 1f.
I had used them before with no issues, and the leather on my SS M3 is just gorgeous. I wanted that same quality, which, as nice as Aki-Asahi are, their leather is not in the same league. The coloured stuff just looks plasticky. I know, because my DS M3 is wearing some.

Anyway, I got an acknowledgement the next day from Morgan, and will see how this goes.

Sent email inquiry and received same day answer ... then placed order for Rolleiflex leather and received it in about a week. No issues, my experience was great.

hi guys, my M3's vulcanite just died so I would like to know if cameraleather is still reliable for European customers or I should just rely on good old Aki?
cheers.

While previous orders fit perfectly, the one for my Leica 1f does not. Given the cost and the delay I will not be using Cameraleather again.

Huss,

Try one last time and email this link to cameraleather.

Maybe say, "need dimensionally correct red cover for my camera. Look at post #230. Please."

What have you got to lose?

Well put, nothing to lose. I would bet there's a refund or replacement - more likely the replacement (which is more useful anyway).

In my case the order was certainly not delivered lightning fast, but I live on the other side of the planet, quite literally, so shipping for me is always hit or miss. Once supplied, the product was close to perfect.

The cobalt blue (sue me) skin for my M2 arrived quickly and fit perfectly. I'd like to order (many) more kits, but the inconsistent service and creaky website keep me from doing so. I'd say this guy has a problem if he wants to conduct business like this.

I used Aki skins on my SX-70s, these are fine as well. Unfortunately the choice of colors is not nearly as extensive.
