Cameras you love but don't own

I don't have anything in MF, so I'd take any Fuji RF, Mamiya 6 or 7, Pentax 67, or one of several TLRs.

Just for grins, a Crown Graphic or Speed Graphic, or maybe a large format field graphic.

In digital, any of the newer full frame cameras from Canon (I have some Canon lenses) if for no other reason than the good high ISO can come in handy.

Some Leicas.. M, MP, M3 (with Noctilux .95 or 1.0) .. then Rolleiflex w 80mm Planar 2.8 [not sure of best version], a Voigtlander Bessa III (Ooh, rangerfinder w bellows), a Hasselblad 503CM (adorable little box) and because I bought a waist level finder over a year ago but haven't found a camera yet to go under it, an Ihagee Exakta V-.

The f/3.5 is nicer. I've tried both, and given that the Rollei is not a camera I'd choose for action photography, I could live with 2/3 stop slower.

Hasselblads are great with standard lenses but poorly balanced with everything else. Again, yes, I've tried 'em.

I guess if there were three cameras I'd really like they would be:
1. Konica III because it intrigues me and some of the Konica images posted by an RFFer here have impressed me
2. Agfa Super Solinette because it looks cool and I'm shallow like that
3. Either a Bronica ETRS or a Mamiya 645 because I need to shoot more MF and my Rolleiflex Automat is lovely, but not the sharpest at f3.5
I haven't bought any of these so far (though I came close to getting a Konica III) because to me cameras are just things that make images, and I figure I can only use one camera at a time.

Leica MP3 set with Summilux-M ASPH 1.4/50 and Leicavit (black paint).

A few years ago I had an opportunity to buy just the body for a 'reasonable' price and for god knows what reason I did not do it. That was back when everyone thought that film was going to vaporize overnight and you could pick up a mint Blad 5xx with the 80 and A12 for under $500 bucks. In hindsight that was one of the dumber things I've done. Now the MP3 cost a small fortune.

What else...

Nikon F bodies. The horror. There are so many of them and they are relatively cheap.
Nikon F/F2/F3/FM/FM2/FM3A/F100. Oh, and a black SP for good measure.
Damn you Nikon.

A Minox III, BL, LX or TLX. I think the only thing stopping me on this one is solving the film slitter problem.

I sometimes want a fully decked out Speed Graphic 4x5. Then I remember that I've owned a Linhof III for over 10 years and rarely use it. The Linhof is a marvel of German precision engineering. The Speed Graphic is just plain cool. Usually this dream degenerates in to a three way featuring the Schneider 2.8/150mm and 2.5/178mm Aero Ektar.

I also occasionally lust after the big Mamiya RB/RZ 6x7 kits. Then I remember that I'm not really a fan of the 6x7 aspect ratio, unless I am shooting it in portrait mode. Usually this fantasy drift off to the Voigtlander 667, because it is far more portable. Then I wake up and realize that I already have a few Rolleiflex and Hasselblad bodies.

Sometimes I have this nightmare where Tri-X is discontinued, Ilford tanks and Fuji is only building x-cameras. The big question becomes 'Now what? Glass plates or digital?' If the answer is digital, then the ideal camera would be a Leica M 240 or a Leica Monochrom with the sensor from the 240.


But most of this is day dreaming. I'm determined to stay disciplined and keep my kit a reasonable size. I went through that phase where I lugged around a backpack full of gear and it was a nightmare.

The MP3 really is the only thing I truly desire and would buy if I came across one at a reasonable price. Owning the whole BP MP3/Lux/Leicavit kit would be the jackpot. Two would be even better.

One step at a time. Now I would like to have an olympus Pen F and I am saving for a mint one. After that it will certainly be that Leica M6-TTL that I am saving for since long ago.
 
I'm getting to the stage where I've got almost everything that I'd like/need - but I'd love to add:
- a Mamiya 6 (with all 3 lenses)
- and/or a Plaubel Makina 67

After I had one or both of those, I really wouldn't need anything else, but I'd find new cameras to lust after - like some sort of Alpa, and I'd love to try a large format field camera sometime, and then there's those gorgeous Horseman panoramic cameras... talking of which I've always fancied an Xpan. And then there's the Hasselblad SWC. And thinking of other panoramics, there's also...
 
I am at peace with what I now own.
This statement became true since I added the M8,M9, and SWC.
I wanted to try out some excellent digital RF cameras, and then I have always wanted the SWC.
I do not want any other cameras to be added to what I already own.
I am very much enjoying the use of what I now own. Adding more would require that I give up using what I own.
Given my research and teaching schedule each week, there really is no time for more photography than what I am now doing.
As for collecting more cameras, this is not really what I want to do.
 
Hasselblad Supreme Wide Angle would make a nice addition to the family.

A Contax I that I could actually use would be nice, really nice actually.

Here's one from left field...an Arriflex 16s movie camera. It's a bit of an oddball in the Arrflex camera family, but since the curtain has come down on shooting regular 8 and super 8 is slipping beneath the waves, I have to move up in format size if I want to keep shooting movie film.
 
1. Mamiya 6 - for no good reason other than I have the 7 and love it, and would like to have a 6x6 version.

2. Rolleiflex 2.8 or 3.5 - Again, no good reason. I love my Yashica-Mat, but would love to experience what all the buzz is about with a Rolleiflex.

3. But what I really, really would love to have is a Hasselblad SWC - I have a 500c/m, but I don't think a 40 or 50 lens does quite the same thing that an SWC does, so I am putting money in the mattress for the SWC waaaaaaay down the road.
