I just got ny first M today, and I want to know if the M7 can get a little wet. I have a D200, and I know it is weather resistant. I can't find any information about the Ms.

It sure can! Don't go dousing it in a toilet to clean the salt water off though, the M7 has more electronics than other M camera besides the m8. I would advice most rainy conditions should be fine to use it in.

The M7 is not water-resistent, and as such really isn't suited for wet or humid conditions. I won't say you can't use it in mist, but it's your camera at stake if something goes wrong.

Though I did hear stories of how Jacques Cousteau put a (mechanical) Leica and flushed the toilet to clean it after its waterproof enclosure failed under water. I'm not sure how the camera fared, however.

As stated above, the M7-8's are loaded with electronics. I wouldn't walk around in a Monsoon, but I would use them in light showers. If in doubt, put it in a zip lock bag. I have a couple in my bag, already cut out for the lens. I carried two M2's (70-72) while in Viet Nam, dry and VERY WET. Never had any problems.
As with any gear use your own judgment.

Contrary to popular opinion, electronics can get wet without dying. The problem is water shorting the circuitry, so if you take out the battery and the water is reasonably clean (i.e. not salt water) having a wet camera is not an electronic problem.

So the get-wet-but-not-short-circut idea would work in an M6, but not the battery-dependent M7 (unless you shot at only 1/60).
Better than nothing, I guess.

I wasn't referring to using the camera when wet. The Leica isn't waterproof, and its cloth shutter isn't designed to work underwater. When you have got water inside your camera body, so that you need to get worried about electronics, there's other things to get worried about as well.
