Hi all,
I'm considering trading one of my 35/2 v4 Summicrons for a 28 ASPH Elmarit. I'm having a hard time finding some examples of the lens' bokeh. Maybe you have some to share?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the quick responses. Renzsu that would be great, thanks!
Dogberry, is that wide open?

I wonder about how much I would enjoy this lens. It seems to render a little clinical and flat... but I'm wondering how much of that is due to the stopped down photos I'm finding.

Ok, just went out into the garden, it's quite overcast, but the pictures are all straight out of camera, no tweaks, no sharpening. The links go to 100% versions of the smaller images posted here, so you can see the details.

I never really use the lens wide open, I bought mine for street shooting, so I'm mostly at f/8 and f/11, sometimes f/4 and f/5.6.
The medium range apertures are really nice in this lens, sharp as a needle and nice subtle falloff.

Here's one on the M6, with Ektar 100. Probably wide open:

I love this photo. More than just a happy snap of family life. It feels as if it was a set-up for a pop-art magazine - the colours, the expression, the angle, and the atmosphere.

Thank you very much hunghang!

Yeah, you guys are convincing me of the merits of this lens. I guess it's not worth spending the extra $ for the summicron version... and maybe there is enough difference between this lens and the 35/2 v4 to justify the trade.

I have the Elmarit 28 asph and use it on an M8. Pros=small, sharp. Cons=rather clinical rendering (i.e., lack of character). It really depends on what you want.

I've always been intrigued by this lens even though Im more of a 24mm type of guy. Im really digging the shots in this thread and Im feeling the GAS!

Hi fates, PM sent. Please let me know if you want to sell your 35/f2 summicron v4 lens..
Very keen and I need a lens for my M8!
