This is the shot I intended to post yesterday but only the link showed up... my fault. The second is here in Rome.
I love the images coming out on this thread. My compliments to all.

*oops, just realized the title is "best street photo", how about "beginning street photo"?

Not sure about "best" but the following is most certainly my favourite recent one:

I have a few... I think of street photography as a way to make something out of nothing.

Will you do me a favor and go back and tell the girl on the far left that I'm in love with her?

Here's one from a few years back. I've gotten away from street photography lately but I really love it. Even when I'm not shooting, I'm always seeing my surroundings with that sort of mindset.

Wow, nice, PDriscoll/blackwave. Gotta long way to go. Sigh.

Thanks, Snowbuzz! The thing about photography is that you always feel like there's a long way to go. At least I've always felt like that, and I've been doing it quite a while! Maybe that's good motivation to keep pushing forward.

Thanks! I actually rarely ever shoot street photos, but time and time again I like to mess around and look for stuff. I happen to think those photos you posted are cool. The last one has an interesting vintage vibe to it.
Edit: I agree with Blackwave. It's always been a work in progress, and will be for the rest of my life by default.

This must be Spadina? Very strange. I've been to Toronto once and recognize this immediately. (Unless I'm wrong of course).
Sorry to disappoint, but it's Taraval St in San Francisco.

Not sure about my "best", but absolutely two that I personally like the most.
