Canada canadian rff meeting - May 19, 20, and 21, 2007.

I would say whoever resides in greater Montreal gets to organize it.

Bill

Oh I forgot in my welcome bag, make it a black paint Leica MP with 50 f2 Summicron:).

i vote for bj to be coordinator and for him work with any other locals that are up for the task!!

:)
Dangit! I have unwittingly volunteered myself for this...

Seriously though, are there any locals who can help out? I just don't know the town that well... I know a few places on St Denis and St Laurent, and I'm starting to figure out my own neighbourhood, but that's about it.

This is gonna be fun! :D

Talking about film processing, I could arrange something with the lab I've been using for over 12 years. It's about 2 minutes walk from my place and the service is great.

C-41 processed (no prints) + CD-ROM (3000x2000px) for 9.99$ (1 hour)
B&W processed (X-Tol) (no prints) + CD-ROM (3000x2000px) for 12.99$ (same day)

The guy doesn't do B&W everyday and often skips the weekends but if there is demand for it, I'm sure something can be easilly arranged with him.

Marc, that would be cool, but do you think he'll be open on the Monday? Or were you thinking that on Sunday we just take in our work from Saturday, and then have something to show?

I think he'll be closed on the Monday but I'm not sure. It might be fun to see our results during the weekend. Also, some might prefer to have their rolls processed before traveling back home.

Jazz? Nawww, how 'bout industrial! Is the Thunderdome still there on Stanley :)

Thunderdome has been closed for years. I think it closed in 1988.

On Friday night, Saphir has a Gothic night with industrial, EBM and such. That's where I usually end up. Saturday night, Passeport (where I work) has an EBM, Electro, with a bit of '80's night. Since it's a long weekend, Passeport should be opened on Sunday with something similar to the Saturday night.

As for shooting ops, don't forget Plateau Mont-Royal. Especially in late May. The weather is going up, heavy clothes are coming off, terrasses are opening and there's something in the air... You'll find out why I love living on Saint-Denis St. ;)

Also, don't forget I can arrange to have a guide to old abandoned factories and such. Also, if someone wants to shoot models, let me know.

Looks like I'm going to be following Marc around like a puppy - sorry Marc :)

There is a (Toronto) CityTV show/series called "Naked in the House" where invited photographers (I think there were 10 or 12) each have 1/2 hour with a nude model in an abandoned house. They are given 1 roll of film (120 in this case) and can use only 1 camera and 1 lens. An exhibit is mounted sometime later and the photographers themselves vote on their favourite image. This has been done 2 or 3 years in a row. (The last time the location was an abandoned factory in November and there was snow.) Anyway, would anyone be interested in an activity like this during one of the afternoons (maybe Sunday) since Marc has access to a model and an abandoned factory?

You're okay, Joe. Your es-wives won't mind. I voted "would depend" in that poll, and I think this will be okay.

He passes everything by Sugar now, better safe than sorry.
LOL! She's a sweetheart, but I don't know if she'd be OK with that. :D

Frank, all the recent threads about nude photography reminded me of the Naked in the House series, too. Some truly incredible work comes from there. It would be an interesting idea; if there is enough interest, we could do that (or at least something similar).

Keep the ideas coming, boys and girls. I'm writing everything down!
