Hello,
I was looking for the canon 0.95 Lens and I saw that there are two difference lenses! TV lens and one without tv. Is there any differences between the two in constructions or rendering quality? Thank you!

I'm not an expert on this, but I think there were two versions: the TV version and the Canon 7 bayonet version. So all 50/0.95 have to be converted if you plan using the lens on a M mount camera. Unless you buy one that's already been converted, of course. I remember reading somewhere that the TV version is easier to convert, but I might be wrong.

Anyway, there is lot of info on the lens and different conversions here on RFF, so start searching!

The TV version was made for TV cameras and has no rangefinder coupling. It has the same helical, so elements travel at the same rate in both lenses and it can be converted to M-Mount. I have read as well that it is easier to convert to M-mount, but cannot explain why.

Optically both lenses are equal, just the coupling is different.

Thank you for the quick replies! 🙂 Nice to see that this forum so active! So Tv is easier to convert to M-mount, but has no rangefinder coupling. The one without tv is more difficult to convert, but it is rangefinder coupled on the m8 or rd1? Thanks

Also, there are a couple of different conversions possible that might or might not fit all M-mount cameras. Know this from a painful experience. A few months ago a feller offered me a converted ).95 for an unbelievable price of EUR 600!! I jumped right on it, but when we met to check out the lens I saw that due to the shape of the release built for m-mount button I wouldn't be able to dis-mount it from my Bessa R3A... The seller has then refused to sell me the lens 🙂
That was one of the most painful missed opportunities. I still cry at the thought that I could have ha 0.95 at such affordable price 🙁

After conversion both should be rangefinder coupled on the M-mount

No - the Canon 7/7S bayonet lens is far easier to convert than the non-coupled TV lens. The non-coupled TV lens (note that some TV marked lenses are RF coupled) has to have the coupling added by the technician and they do that different ways - creating a cam "ring" around the rear element, epoxying a tab on the element, or, I have heard, grinding the rear element down to make room for a tab. But you may be able to use the TV lens with a hard to find C-Mount coupler on a micro 4/3s camera with the right adapter. There are some well known "specialists" who can truly butcher the job, so be careful if you go that route.

A number of people have converted their own RF-coupled lenses - it's pretty straightforward.
