Canon 135mm 3.5, 100mm 3.5 size?

I picked up a chrome 135mm 3.5 a few months ago. It turned out to be more useful than I expected but the lens is a bit on the larger size. I find myself leaving it at home more often than other lenses as as result.

Is the 100mm lens much smaller? I haven't seen one in person and can't find any comparison photos. I've heard good things about the lens but they seem to rare finds in decent condition for under $300 at the moment.

I assume the 100mm f/4 lens is a similar size? How is its performance by comparison?

It's tiny, Brian. At least the "zebra" version that I cleaned. In memory, feels like half the size compared to the 135.

The 100/3.5 is tiny by comparision. The chrome 100/3.5 is about the same size as the all-black version shown here. Both lenses shown at infinity position

The 100mm is also substantially lighter. The black & chrome 100mm weighs 205 grams, the chrome 135mm weighs 565 grams.

Wonderful, thanks for the info and photo. I'll definitely be watching for a good one. Hopefully they are at a more reasonable price after the holidays. 🙂
