I still have both converters A and B. There is no RF coupling though.
The rear element can't hit a shutter since the flange to film distance on any camera for a given mount is the same.
There is a problem working with wide angle lenses that are not Leica on the full frame digital M9 that are not there on normal Leica film cameras. Most any brand lens that will fit a film Leica will work fine on the Leica M8 digital. You would only be using the center portion of the lens though because of the crop factor of the M8.
This number was mentioned by Hooper in his LHSA article about Canon lenses too.The production number that Canon gives for the 19mm f/3.5 is 980 units and that covers the two variations that I identified in my book.
I've looked at Kevincameras.com website and most of his prices are astronomical.
