why 1.1??
my 1.5 goes to 1m (which I admit, is not enough, but still, not very far from the 0.9m of the UC hex for example...)

Mine goes down to 3.5 feet. Means 0.91 meter, I think.

Woops. Absolutely right about conversion. My Mac widgets seem to be out of order...
My example is an <E.P> red marked with distance in feet only.

Hi guys, here are some more pics with the Canon 35mm f/1.5 LTM lens and an expired roll of Portra 160VC. I expect to take the lens with me to Paris in about 10 days. I'll try BW again.

Oh man, I so want that lens! Beautiful color rendering, Koni Kowa and TwoK!

Well Bingley, you're right about the color rendition : I think this lens was made for color. I don't like the results I had in BW that much, but it was two years ago, that's why I want to try it again.
There was one on eBay Singapor. It has not sold. KevinCameras has one or two, but at higher prices. And TWoK sold two of them here on RFF.com recently.

I prefer it for color, too. At f/2.8 it/s the best RF Canon 35mm, IMHO

I'm going to Paris next friday. 4 days of shooting and meetings with other amateur photographs. I would like to travel light. I'm thinking about ZI + Canon 35mm f/1.5 LTM with BW (and some color) films. I'd take my CLE + M-Rokkor in my bag just in case.
What do you think ?

Interesting, I had a mint one about 4 years ago, complete with hood and leather case, but decided I really didn't like it after only 2 weeks use - swapped it for a 35mm Summicron vIV that I lked a lot better.
I'm now having 2nd thoughts, having seen some of the colour shots here :bang:

For a few months there has been a pretty clean example of a Canon LTM 35mm f1.5 sitting in the display case at Camera Exchange in San Antonio, TX, priced at $350.00. I was there just yesterday and it was still there. I posted on RFF once before about a different Canon LTM lens (50mm f1.5) that was a good deal there and it was gone a few days later. Raid called them on it but told me they don't do mail order, but might be worth a try. If anyone living nearby is interested, I'd go check it out tomorrow. They also have a fair number of used Voigtlander and Leica lenses right now, which is not normal for them. I picked up a pristine Voigtlander Nokton 40mm f1.4 yesterday and put a roll of Tri-X through it. I'm scanning the negs right now and they're looking sweet.

I think a number of RFF members have had this lens in the past, but sold their copies. It certainly doesn't appear very often in Classifieds.

I called Camera Exchange in San Antonio and convinced them to sell me the 35mm Canon lens (I'm in Ohio). But they say it's a 35mm F1.8, not a 35mm F1.5. They also have a nice 25mm Canon with viewfinder for sale. I already have a nice 35mm F2 Canon so I don't need the F1.8.
I left my cell number in case the F1.5 turns up. Also you never know what will come down the road. Very nice friendly people there BTW.

Like the 35/1.8 and 35/2.0, no hood was "made" for this lens. The lens body is it's own hood. The W-50 is for a Canonflex lens. That it works is merely handy.

I also use the w-50 as the lens hood for this lens.
The 35mm f1.5 Canon lens gets more use than my pre-aspherical Summilux for some reason.
I must like this lens a lot.

Thanks everyone for all the answers, I'll look for that hood sometime soon.
Seems that this lens has a sweet spot right around f2.8, I can't wait to try this lens out, will be a pleasure to not have to step back 40 feet from my model just to get all of her in a shot.....(M8 crop factor etc.)

I still own and use my Canon 35/1.5 in addition to a Canon 50/1.5 and a Canon 85/1.5.
I either keep this trio or sell them together one day. They are very well made. I use the W-50 lenshood with the 35 lens.
