Canon 35mm/1.5 on ebay .... close to $600 already!

Since it was designed to be used without a hood, that is how I use it.

I don't know, mine was flaring badly.
Now, maybe the recessed front element made the hood redundant, but I assumed that with that sensibility to strong lights, I needed to use the hood (W-50 IIRC)

Some Canon lenses can get internal haze build-up over the years. Have you checked your lens?

Raid,

You are right to mention haze.
Mine had a tiny bit of haze but I sent it for a cleaning, and it was clear when I used it.

I'm processing eight new B&W rolls later today, mainly with the 35mm F1.5 maybe I will see some more flare artifacts? I occasionally also got some flare with the 35mm F2 Canon. I do have perfectly clear glass in the 35mm F1.5. Lights within the frame area do tend to "bloom" but as I said, I kind of like that particular effect. Also the paper-thin DOF up close in quite interesting.

I'm keeping mine.

Yes. The Canon 35/2 behaves similarly, BTW.

gee, that's pretty

Mike: We have an open market where such a thing is possible. Maybe this lens is worth over $700 and maybe it is not worth as much.

...........I better not post the racing photos I shot at Sebring this past Sunday, that will spike the price way over $800+ LOL!!!!!!! ~ yeah an AMAZING lens! 😀

Tom

Tom,

Whoever will buy the lens will appreciate seeing some of these racy [or racing] photos that you have taken. Show us...

I saw the last "Canon 35/1.5 on eBay" thread and decided to get one of these for myself. I found one here in Japan still new in the box, and it cost a lot less than $731...
