Canon LTM Canon 50/1.4 LTM lens just sold for $1358!

Canon M39 M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
Love my Canon 50 1.4 but that's just insane.

Here is mine. I bought a 62mm push on cap for the hood, it works fine. So that i don't need to remove the hood to protect the lens with a cap. I bought mine attached to a 7S for 100 bucks.

Hey, we're almost twins. I use a 58mm pinch cap in my hood. It fits just inside instead of around the outside.

Well everyone`s speculation whether the buyer really knew what their were doing or that the buyer would renege on their bid can be put to rest.

The buyer paid and left positive feedback. Someone really wanted that lens and paid 1,330 $.

Excellent condition ones seem to be going for over $300 routinely, many nearing $500. Ones with some fungus are over $250.

As good as these lenses are, this seems a little crazy.

.....I have no idea why Leica-M or SM lenses are getting priced through the roof.

Easy answer. As the prices of new Leica M lenses continues to increase, the prices of used Leica lenses (M or LTM) are dragged higher too. Sort of like a "rising tide raises all boats."

Some people always cost out lenses lower but then you have to wait and wait to find that "deal." Or, one can throw a few extra bucks [if you have it] and move on.

I have no idea why Leica-M or SM lenses are getting priced through the roof.

Not really; I just bought a Tessar 5cm 2.8 and also a Nikon 5cm 2.0 LTM, so therefore getting yet another 50mm lens is not urgently needed. It is not the deal search that is making me wait.

I think mine was $165 in January 2008 on eBay, I made a throw-away eSnipe bid ("I'll never win this"), and surprised myself by winning. Normal price even then was $200 to $250. So prices are definitely on the up-and-up for good LTM lenses.
