Well-known
I ordered these two lenses off keh.com along with a Canon 7.
If I get along with these lenses, then I plan on getting a hood & filters; however they use the uncommon 40mm thread so I'd probably need to go aftermarket to keep things simple/cheap. I don't have any experience with step up rings and aftermarket hoods but it seems that Heavystar is reliable.
I checked ebay and it seems that I have 5 step up options:
1) 40mm - 40.5mm
2) 40mm - 43mm
3) 40mm - 46mm
4) 40mm - 49mm
5) 40mm - 52mm
But Heavystar seems to have vented hoods options 1,2, & 3. I'm kind of hesitant to try other hoods so it seems to me hat these are my three best options.
My questions
1) Does it matter how far I step up? I'd probably go with 1) or 3) since there are lenses that I'm interested in those filter threads.
2) I hear that the 35mm f1.8 vignettes with filters/hoods. What filters/hoods do you guys use?
3) Can I stick the adapter on, then the filter, then the hood? Or will I experience any adverse effects from this? 40mm filters seem difficult to find.
