Canon EOS 1n vs EOS 1v

I currently own and use and really like my EOS 1n. I've paired it with the 40mm f/2.8 pancake (love that word!) lens, and I've not found a more compatible kit for me in years. I'm wondering if there would be any advantage to picking up an EOS 1v as well. From what I've been able to find out, the 1n is an earlier and somewhat less feature-laden version of the 1v. What has been your collective experience with either camera, and is the 1v a tremendous advance over the 1n?

One nice thing about the 1v is that you can use Meta35 to download exif information from the camera. Dunno if it lets you set custom settings like the F100, N90s do for Nikon land. It's nice for tagging information to your scans if you do that sort of thing.

30 personal functions and 19 custom functions. A lot easier setting there than in the camera.

1v is a nice upgrade if you put to use those off-center AF points i.e. for portraits to have one on the models eye, also with one button you can switch to center point, too bad they omitted it EOS 3. Another advantage is better eye relief, finally a good Canon VF for eyeglasses. One can also use PB-E2 with 1v, AFAIR not compatible with 1n. Magnesium body is nicer than shiny plastic but you pay the price in weight. If you don't need faster camera I'd suggest to keep 1n.
