I did a Zorki 4 about a year ago, but the Contax IIa and now the Canon IVSb were the first real cameras that I opened up.
 
Curtain replacement on a Canon bottom-load RF with 1/1000 shutter speed is nastier than on Leica IIIc (or later) because the curtains have to be so precisely located on the drums. The Leica IIIc has adjustable cams for 1/500 and 1/1000 on the second curtain latch, which the Canons don't have.
