what size end cap fits that hood? cool!

The hood is the Canon Series VI round hood labeled 50/1.8, 35/2.8, 35/3.5. The end is unthreaded, and the outside diameter is 58mm. I challenge you to find me a cap that fits that. Canon had a "58mm" cap (probably SLR era) which is 60mm inside, because it's sized to fit ø58 filter -- any filter is about [thread size +2mm] outside.

I have the "58mm" cap, which I plan to line with Dr.Scholls moleskin to make an interference fit.

As an aside, I can confirm today that Camdiox and Marumi 40mm filters ("for Fuji X10/X20/X30") have the correct fine pitch "40mm x 0.5" thread needed for our Canon RF lenses.

I found a Schneider-Kreuznach cap to fit - "B+W Schneider 58mm Slim Push On Lens Cap #305" (for use on 55mm filter). And it is indeed 58mm inside diameter, and fits perfectly. But "slim" is taken just a bit too far, and the bloody thing doesn't *stay* on. It seems snug enough, but polished plastic against brushed steel -- the thing just slowly floats off. Infuriating. I'm back to the Minister of Leaves...

But now I'm looking at other 55mm caps, that is caps to fit 55mm filters.

Here are a few shots with the 5cm Serenar 1.8 ... on par with the Leica Summitar.

These are excellent.. Such delicate colors.

... and stand Dev with a C-41 Kit.

Whoa. I'm terribly fond of Stand development for B/W (w Rodinal) but had no idea the technique is useful with C-41. Do you have a ready reference for how to do this, or shall I just start hunting through google?

Perhaps Derek meant stand as a shorthand for standard? Otherwise, I may have to do some Google research, too!

Someone else here mentioned stand development for C41 (IIRC it was an hour at 20C) but I'll be something ruded if I can find it.

The results were good too.
