That's the difference, if you don't fix it in CR or PS, between when one scans a bw neg in color mode or in bw mode. The "warm" one is the color scan.

All lenses take great pictures of daughters (the last one of yours is a gem).

Have some pictures here of the "all-black" 50/1.8 lenses??
Which are the correct one for black cameras, but for some reasons seems to be even rarer.

Nice pics! I too had this dilemma, started off with a 50 f1.8, gotten a 50 1.4 from maiku...and was considering to sell my 50 f1.8 away but then, i didnt...i took this lens with me to countries that were a little harsh for travelling...so wont feel too painful in the event that i lost it or dropped it..
This lens is a Performer!

Just picked up a later version (vIII perhaps) this morning on a Yashica YF. To say it has a haze would be an understatement. More like looking through ground glass. I ever get it cleaned, then I know by the photos here that I have a good lens. It's very classy looking on the YF.

It has been noted that Canon ltm lenses used lubricants that tended to generate haze, but many (if not most) times that can be cleaned away. I've seen some good work by Essex w/ a fast turnaround time.
My sample is a version II (the first chrome and black).

What is the close focus distance of this lens?

What is the close focus distance of this lens?
Three feet, IIRC. I don't have the lens in front of me right now.

The last marking on mine is at 3.5ft, but then that goes past the center mark on the camera to the IR mark, so it could be 3ft.

Just checked mine - distance is in meters, but close focus goes past 1 meter so I'm thinking it's 3 ft.

Damn. Impressive images in this thread. The samples I see from this lens always have such a nice rendering. I'm particularly fond of the colors. Wow.
I don't need another 50mm lens, I don't need another 50mm lens, I don't need another 50mm lens,

I've been shooting mostly medium format or with wider angle lenses recently. I really need to take this lens out again soon. Here is a quick shot with it before I cleaned some of the haze out of the lens.

I just took another - it looks like I didn't get as much as I thought. I'll have to give it another go and take the lens out again soon.
