I have read about a Canon Mirror Box 2, but I have never seen one. Has anyone on this forum had experience with one? Do they work as well as a Visoflex? Do you know of one for sale?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

I have a MB2 and the apropriate 135/2.5 lens, looking for a 200/3.5.

The mirror is a non return type. It stands between the Leica Visoflex II and IIa.
The screen is a bit small (no clue how much covering) but very bright (fresnell screen)
I had the FL-lens 135/2.5 before I found the M-lens, which is the same optically (and much cheaper), and mounts nicely on the MB2. The problem is, it can be used only in the close focus area from 1.5m. Most FL- and FD-lenses can be mount on the MB2 and be used as macro lenses as well.
The lenses are quite rare. My 135/2.5 has a S/N of 10045, I haven't seen many. I believe that production numbers are in the range of 1,000, maybe a few 100's. For the longer lenses than 200mm, even less.
When Canon made this device, the market was already on SLRs for longer lenses.

I'm not really impressed with the MB-2. It has a cheap feel. It is no way near the Visoflex III in usability or even approaches the nice feel of the Visoflex II. I have the 200mm f3.5 which is a nice lens.
