Canon P RF patch blocked!

I hope there may be a possible solution to the problem I have.

I have finally completed my Leica LTM set with Canon P with 35mm, 50mm and 105mm.

One little problem is that with nikkor 10.5cm lens mounted with 52mm hood, the hood blocks 90% of the rangefinder patch. Without hood, only a small part of the RF patch is blocked so it is fine. I wanted maximum sharpness and flare control with the lens so hood was a must. (One caveat is that the 52mm hood is for 50mm 1.4 lens in nikon F mount) I do see hood for 10.5cm are longer but I am not sure if it is narrower so it doesn't block most of the RF patch.

If anyone has any experience with this, any advice will be appreciated!

I have a Model P, but not that lens. My suggestions are a vented hood (off eBay) and/ or an accessory VF that goes in the hotshoe. The latter won't help focusing, but will help you frame the image.

Brian--good point I should've mentioned. Actually straight- walled is sufficient.

I use my Nikkor 10.5 on the Canon P with a short Heliopan hood:

Canon 100/3.5 😛? The P has 100mm framelines, anyway.
