Hi guys,
I can get my hand on a very pretty copy of a black canonet QL 17 G III QL17 for a relatively reasonable price.
The only flaw in this copy is that the frame (number of exposure) counter does not work.
Is it an easy fix? Who can get it fixed? Does the Canon service still fix old cameras?
Thanks for your answer
Assaf

If you can, take a close look at it. When you open the film door, on the top there is a small silver button that controls the frame counter. Sometimes old light seal material can brake off and get in there and block it fom getting depressed when the door is shut, keeping it from working. Just something to check. Also, try manually pressing the button with a pin or tip of a pen to see if it will release the frame counter.
If its the right price and everything else works, Id buy it. Just shoot until the film runs out, then you'll know the roll is done. I have an XA like that.

Thanks a lot!
It makes sense that this is the problem. That's because the first time I tried it the counter functioned - then the seller at the store told me it didn't - he openned the door, closed it and then it didn't function.
I'll give it another look at the store hopefully soon.
BTW - such a camera is sold in ebay for 275USD (!) does it seem reasonable to you?!

The black ones are usually more expensive, though $275 seems a bit steep especially if not in pristine condition.
By the way Milton was my grandfather's name.....

well, the guy who's selling the camera I'm talking about wants ~100$, but I think he'll settle for less.
Actually my name is Assaf, and Milton is just a web name 🙂
many thanks man, you helped me a lot!
