Hi

I have a Canonet QL17 G3 (excellent) which I mainly use for B/W, and got a Konica Auto S2 through Ebay for colour stuff on bright days as it has a hood as standard on it.

However the S2 does not work and a cla will cost £40 to get it fixed. However I see another Canonet, this time a QL19 on Ebay, which looks in good condition, but may cost around the same as getting the S2 fixed.

I like the option of the QL19 as I have a Canolite D flash already and the focal length is 45mm , the same as the S2. What is the filer size for the QL19 though and how does its lens compare to the S2, which I hear is quite good. Also could I use a Canolite D with the S2?

Hi Stephen,
Are you in the UK? What is wrong with your S2? I may be able to help or if you want a good replacement , I may also be able to help. I am out of small QL19's at the moment. Which QL19 were you looking at? the small ones use the canolite flash but not the older big ones. The older ones are about the same size as the S2. I prefer this because the meter is more flexible. Anyway drop me a PM if you need help.

Regards
Kim

The Canonet QL-17 with the 45mm lens has a filter size of 55mm.

The Canolite is usable on the older camera, but its convenoence features may not be functional. The older Canonet QL-17 does not have a hot shoe, just the PC plug.

I think tha Canonet is a little smoother and quieter in operation than the Konica, but the results are indistinguishable.
