I've got the opportunity to pick up a CanoScan 8400F for $100 Cdn. Wondering if anyone can comment on the quality of film scans with this scanner. I have NO experience scanning film.... yet.
CanoScan 8400F a good choice?

I bought one a few years ago at that price. It's been fine for web sharing but I'm sure you could do better now. Is it still current?

I have one and it's OK. Fine as a flatbed but not so good with med format film. I suspect the crappy film holders are the biggest part of the problem. I ended up buying a Nikon 8000 used and it blows it away (of-course) in quality. I'm sure you can do better as the 8400F is a few generations old now. Just my opinion.
