I just bought a Fuji X-Pro 1 camera here on RFF. I also bought a 27mm lens on another forum. At the moment, it's the only lens I have for the X-Pro 1.

For some reason, I can't figure out how to change the aperture when I'm shooting. I have it set to Auto + Manual. I assumed I'd be able to change the aperture to the one I want. But I cannot figure out how to do this. I looked in the manual that came with the camera and all it says is to rotate the aperture ring around the lens, or something to that effect. But the ring that rotates on the lens does not appear to change the aperture.

Am I missing something here?

Basically, the Aperture is currently set to f2.8 and I'd like to change it to f8 or f11.

Thanks for any help that anyone can offer.

the thumb wheel on the back should do it. pretend you're shooting a canon dslr or something ;)

the 27 is a fun lens. While some people dislike the lack of an aperture ring, it's actually quite a bit faster i find to change it while shooting this way.

Couple of other things to note...
- just the Fuji website to make sure u have the latest sw. I can't remember when they updated the fw to support the 27..
- usually on the other XF grade lenses there are two rings, the mf and aperture. The 27 only has the mf.

Have fun the the xp1 and the 27.

Fortunately, I have looked into that and the X-Pro 1 that I bought here on RFF does have the latest software.

Thanks for the explanation about the other XF grade lenses having two rings and the 27 only having the manual focus ring. At least in the case of my lens, the Fuji manual wasn't any help at all when it says to use the aperture ring on the lens to change aperture.

Thanks.

In the X-Pro 1 Shooting Mode menu system "APERTURE SETTING" is available when XC (no aperture ring) lenses are mounted. You cam set "AUTO+MANUAL", "AUTO" or "MANUAL". I use manual.

The manual will describe the roll of these modes.
