Does anyone know of older classic wide angle lenses that are readily available within the $50-100 range? I'm thinking I want to experiment with a wide field of view without paying a lot of money. Pretty much any mount would work as I'm likely going to get this lens + an adapter and try it out on Micro Four Thirds.

I'm thinking anything between 7 and 10mm would work well.

Anyway, any suggestions? Quality isn't such a huge deal, I just want to play around. Cheers.

I want to use the lens on a Micro Four Thirds body. I'm thinking there might be some classic SLR film lenses that go for cheap at that focal length that I could mount using an adapter.

Funny... There are no "classic" 7 or 10mm lenses. Nikon had a manual focus 13mm 5.6. You may find one on eBay for around 10.000$.

What you are asking for is a seriously exotic lens. They do not come cheap. It's cheaper to buy a Samyang fisheye. You won't find any rectilinear lenses that wide. Perhaps a screw on attachment lens would do the job paired with a 14 42 kit zoom

Yeah I might have to go for a samyang. I just figured that it doesn't hurt to ask.

Thanks.

I use the Canon FD 7.5mm lens on other cameras. It may cost $400 and not $50.
A more realistic goal is to look for a Vivitar 19mm lens for $75.

What about c-mount lenses with an adapter? Surely there are some wide security camera lenses out there, or something along those lines.

c-mount wides usually dont cover the whole frame.

micro four thirds and "vintage" wide angle lenses dont go well together. The cheapest semi-wide option is a current Olympus kit lens. 14-XX type.
