Will,
These are DIY cameras. I saw someone DIY a 6X9 with a dead Moscow 5 body and mounted a super wide angle LF lens on it.

Zhang,
Wouldn't call them DIY, but they are cottage industry stuff for sure, they are selling them. Still they are either die-casted or CNC (fotoman).
This one with the rangefinder is interesting, maybe in a tighter body like that MEILI 6x9? Now that's something really useable.
Any info/blueprint on those optical rangefinder?

This is what I want to do...
Need time and $, which I lack both.
Would be great to take a 2020 loaded with a 612/617 or 45 and go to the north west..

Rob,
612 @ $3800 RMB, which works out to $480~ish USD; with VF, RF, film counter, but no lens mounting/helicord, likely to be cheap, schenider's heldcord is quoted $600USD+ on B&H

You can find the guy directly, and if there are any language difficulties, I am sure me or Zhang can handle it for you (very likely, he is in the northwest, LOL).

Zhang,
I made an offer on this. Now I really need a car...
Linhof Kardan Colour 45, should be the 2nd verison with split mono-rail, and Techika's front standard. Later 45s are like modren monorails.
Will you be in Shanghi these two weeks?

Will,
I am the 6,000 viewer of this thread.
No, I don't think I will be in Shanghai these two weeks. In fact , the last time I was in Shanghai was about 10 years ago.
Here is a scientific equipment with a Seagull DFAB attacted to it. I don't think I posted this image before.
Cheers,
Zhang

Good on you on being the 6000 viewer on this tread. Now, quicly get yourself a lottary ticket and go to a single bar tonight, you might get even luckier~!
Found out about another interesting mono rail, the Plaubel Peco Jr, 6x9 only; the Linhof M679 of its days.
Would be a useable classic, would like to get my hands on one of this.

This pic shows the size of the camera.
It looks like a modeified Russian bellow to me, or one can make a camera like this with a bllow? What is the film size?
Will, do you happen to know what kind of wood was used for those LF wooden cameras? Some antique hard wood funiture are very expensive these days.
Here is an image of a popular Huaxia 823 range finder with a fixed 40/2 lens that is a copy of Leitz Summicron 40/2. I think the lens quality is close to the original as it is comparable to my Canon FD 50/1.8. Huaxia series has 821,822,823,841 models. This 823 model has a multiple exposure feature. The earliest model is a Lark 821, and it is a collectabe camera for limited production numbers.

Gentlemen,
This is certainly not in the same leagues as the wonderful metal and glass you've been showing us but I wonder if you guys have seen or know anything about these:
Bamboo-Pinhole-Camera-He-Lotus-120-roll-film-3-Format(LINK) looks interesting (to me anyway).

If I am not wrong, they are the same camera, other than different markings. Another start-up in BJ, quality wise I honestly don't know!? If the Zero Image Pinholes are alright, they should be too.
Here are his list of products, in chinese:

The film size is 6x9, but i think it use its own back, instead of international standard 6x9...
The wood, I have little idea. In south china or even in HK, those traditional chinese funitures are just using cheap wood. Grandma & grandpa and a set built 20 years ago, and the current one is not comparable, at least not in retail or non-custom. Will get you some info on wood for LF cameras when I come around to it.
Huaxia, read that it's a better camera than a 205. Ever saw a Seagull DF5000 for sale in China?
Went to the beachs north east of Shenzhen (Dai Mui Sa, Siu Mui Sa) with my girl today; that's like 100km of travel form Hong Kong. I am the only one with firm, rest are digicams...
Was hoping to take the Switar out, but took a I-26 instead...
Sand in the wind and camera lens don't mix..

Will,
Thank you very much for those links!
This person has some beautiful cameras. And I say "person" because the babel-fish translation of the contact page is unclear about that.
I did get an email address from the "contact page" so I hope to be able to purchase a camera.
If language turns out to be a problem, I think I can get one of my brothers to help me(he was an exchange student in China while he was in college and worked there for a year after college teaching english. Hopefully he remembers enough to help me write an email or several.) I will try to make contact with this person.
Any suggestions you might have will be very much appreciated!
Thanks again!
Rob

Will,
Thank you for your kind offer! I emailed my brother earlier today but it is just now about 6:30 in the morning where he is so I don't expect a response for at least another two hours or so...
I will absolutely let you know how it goes!
I suspect shipping will be a little pricey but the cameras them selves are rather cheaper than the prices from that seller on ebay so it should work out about the same. And I always prefer to give my money to the person making something directly, if I can.
