Here is a group shot of some Chinese 35 mm cine primes. The Ganguang 28/2 is superior to Cooke Speed panchro that it has a very large image circle that almost covers full 135 frame. Colour rendition, contrast, and resolution of this Ganguang 28/2 is also superb.😀

BTW, 凤凰光学(Pheonix Optics Corp.) asked my sister to find a foreign partner. Should anyone has a connection, or is interested, please let me know. This is one of the largest Chinese optical products company.

Beijing 608 factory was one of the projects assisted by the big socialist family includng GDR. Carl Zeiss Jena transferred technology to Chinese optical indusry in earlier days, so these optics were built according to Zeiss standards. Civilian products may have some short-cuts due to cost. But military and professional equipment's quality were much superior.😀

Chinese cine optics line-up was quite complete. but this seems unknown outside China. I suspect that the 1000mm F6.7 mirror is also a Zeiss design, but it is much lighter at only 3000 grams while the GDR 1000mm F5.6 weighs at 14.5 Kgs.😕

Here is a Chinese copy of a Russian Lubitel 2 which I think was also a copy of a camera.😀 This looks like a re-badged Lubitel 2 with the original Russian lens. Zenit, Fed 2, Smena, and Lubitel 2 were copied, and there might be others.

I'm new to this thread and it has been a very interesting read.

I have found a Phenix 205 New In Box at an old family run camera store in the south of China. the camera is New but it does show signs of sitting on the shelf for a long time. The leatherette is coming off the back, but this is an easy fix. It is the 39mm version.

I am not sure if you bought a Phenix 205 as I have never heard of a 205 with a 39mm mount. Perhaps it is a rare industrial camera?

It is a Rolleiflex 2.8F copy with a sharper taking lens than the Planer 80/2.8.😀 It is one of the elite cameras made in the 1970's. Guangzhou Camera Factory made less than 100 such cameras.

It is said that this 20m f2 35mm cine prime approched Zeiss quality in 1970's.

Have you heard of the revolutionalry product of RED ONE? the 35mm cine format digital cinema camera that uses all the 35mm cine lenses, plus many still primes including our Russian and Chinese optics.😀 Used Zeiss primes are hot selling items on evilbay now for very high prices. I hope that the manufactur knows there is a Chinese Nr. 608 factory that makes these quality lenses.

Here are a few more from my Chinese 35mm cine lenses collection. All are very rare, and brand new toys.😀 35/T1.4 is the rarest. 28/2 and 75/2 were made by Ganguang, another factory that also made an Arriflex 35 IIC copy.

There a few other factories that also makes(made) cine optics and equipment.

Some 1950-60's PLA military scopes. This one is a copy of a Soviet scope. I saw the Russian one offered on ebay for about US$1,500. The Chinese version is somewhat better finished.

Hi,

I will show you an extremely rare Chinese OM mount 50/3.5 macro lens. It has no s/n, nor brand name. It focus down to 0.15m. No one has mentioned such a lens before. I wonder why it is in Olympus mount? China has never made an Olympus mount camera.😕

One more mysterious and very rare Chinese lens. This macro 19mm F1.7! looks like a fish eye, but it is a rectilinear lens that covers a 35mm cine frame. I am not sure of its application. Maybe some sort of industrial lens.
