Anyone ever seen a similar style shutter release button on a chrome Leica II? From my image searches, I can only find black Leica IIs and chrome Leica IIIs with this type of button. Nothing on a Chrome Leica II. Also, this one appears to have a Nickel Elmar 50mm f/2 lens attached to it. The serial number indicates it as a Leica II from 1937, with a production run of only 300, so maybe this was an anomaly?

I’m not an expert but isn’t it just missing the shutter-button release collar? The collar was removable to accommodate various accessories. I’ve heard some cameras shipped without the collar. You can see this in earlier manuals (views with and without the collar attached).
Also, Elmar’s of that period were f/3.5. Some later models were f2.8. Looks like you have a 3.5 attached.

Thanks for the reply. I arrived at the same conclusion that this one doesn't have the removable collar on it.
And you are correct with the lens - its got an Elmar 50mm f/3.5 attached.
