collapsible 50's and the R2?

A search turned up some conflicting information.

I am looking into possibly getting a Collapsible Summicron for my R2. However, I am unsure if it will damage the shutter.

Anyone have experience with the 50/2 or 50/2.8 on the R2?

Also, whats the optical quality like on the older collapsible 50/2's by todays standards?

My col. Summicron fits on my R2 no problem.

Optical characteristics: less contrast than modern lenses, prone to flare (so use a lens hood)
