I'm wondering which collapsible lenses will safely retract on an M8 and which won't. Also, which ones you like and which you don't. I'd consider LTM and bayonet mounts. Any focal length, too.

Is anyone using bugeye attachments like the Sooky closeup attachement? My 50 DR cron was part of what I traded towards my M8 because even without the eyes attached the focus ring would bind.

The only collapsible lens I'm not sure about is the old 90mm/4 collapsible Elmar; all other collapsible and deep lenses fit, including the Hologon and Super Angulons.

So, the 50mm f/2.8 Elmar (old and New) can be collapsed on the M8?
No risk of damaging the shutter with the latest Elmar 50 (# 11831) but the rear part of the lens is larger than that of earlier Elmars so that it can damage the internal flocking of the camera or possibly the roll cam of the rangefinder if the tube wobbles in the mount and/or if the lens is mounted or removed when it is still collapsed.
