Why would it be that cheap?

It actually yields nice looking results. I think it will be a nice starter lens to give me time to save up and get a nice expensive lens ( I'm thinking a summicron). If anyone has any experience with this color skopar 50mm 2.8 please chime in. By the way, this will be used with the r2 I am purchasing in the next couple of weeks.

Isn't there an adaptor I could use that doesn't cause a negative effect on image quality?

The adapter is worth more than the lens. Why bother?
I would only adapt the nokton 50/1.5

Photo Village had them @ $499 a couple of weeks ago; I just checked for you: they're gone.

Cameraquest apparently has them @ $599.

I ended up getting an olive r2 and the 50mm 2.5 skopar for 450 (everything new in box, well camera had 1 roll shot through it, with the camera quest lsm to m adapter and manuals). very very pleased with my purchase.
