Comfort Cameras

I have not used an SRT for ages .. but it was ever the battered second hand SRT 202 with missing plastic thumb grip to the lever wind ... forgotten that ... I guess it's Kontax [ either origin ] Leica II and Minolta SR / SRT ...

It has to be an old black M2 that I bought new in 1964 - it is on its third top-plate and second shutter. Paired with a 35 - occasionally a 40f1.4. Lenses tend to change more than cameras.
It is a camera that I can operate in my sleep (and some shots taken with it - looks like I have!).
It would be interesting to try to analyze cameras as to why they become favorites. Smoothness, brightness of finder, the variations of film advance levers action - minute wear on levers and dials to conform to fingers etc.

Joe. I wish I could say that the shutter was worn out after 400 000 shots - it had a bit of a mishap with a 21 S-A and the Australian sun after maybe 100-150 000 exposures 25 years ago.

cameras don't bring me comfort.
pig roasted over the coals all day long.
o-toro sashimi.
soursop, mango, guava.
oh, and of course curry goat.

My Pentax K1000.
As simple and straightforward as you can get.

Same here.

Despite my Rangefinder Renaissance this is still my main camera for serious work. Very comfortable having known it for well over 20 years.

Also the Mamiya SD, the one I grew up with. Like a friend you lost contact with for years but when you get back together ... 🙂
