Hey Roger, I picked up AP today, and saw that the discussion from this thread seems to have inspired some of your thinking. Your column is still the best part of the mag.

Thank'ee kindly -- please do not hesitate to make your opinions known to Damien -- but this thread is only a week old: it's more that this thread reflects things I've been thinking about for some time. The columns go in two weeks or more ahead, and I don't always know the order in which they will appear. The most recent column I've seen is the one for computer programmers and economists.Hey Roger, I picked up AP today, and saw that the discussion from this thread seems to have inspired some of your thinking. Indeed. Anyone who fail to think hard about propaganda is in danger of being influenced by it without realizing. With realizing: well, that's legit. Sort of.That's the one. Yes, quite possibly the influence happened the other way round, but you were talking about propaganda in the three fields.

Randy... Thanks for the picture though. I keep looking for stuff made here in the USA, but it doesn't seem to be available at any price..
Domke camera bags are made in USA, and higher-end Tamrac bags are. I have several Tamrac and Domke bags, all made in USA. The cool thing is, they were no more expensive than other major brands like Lowepro that are all made in China.
Sure, my Think Tank bag is US made, but all my shoes come from China or Vietnam. I do have some old Timberland boots from when they were made here. Shirts? All over. And BTW, I don't generally shop at Walmart, except that they sell film cheaper than CVS.
So if this building were built conservatively then it would mean that traditional techniques and materials were used that were meant to stand the test of time.
Also, Wal-Mart is the company that has driven small, traditional, "mom and pop" stores out of business. Wal-mart is the radically, new, progressive entity which has risen over the last few decades.
"Here you are conservatives, the poster children."
Wow. Awesome. Maybe photography is a progressive medium because it shows the world how it truly is, not how some ideologues think it ought to be. Truth is a very bothersome thing if you are determined to be unseeing.
In the modern USA, the "Conservative" label, when applied to politics, economics, and religion has come to mean "Right-wing". The "Liberal" label here in those contexts means "Leftist".
